Operating Room Surgical Technician

Schedule

12-hour rotating shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights). Weekend availability is required. Able to accommodate 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) Surgical Technician plays a critical role in the surgical team, providing care for a diverse patient population. Our specialties include orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma within a Level 1 trauma center. The OR is equipped with two Davinci robots utilized across multiple services and participates in transplant programs for livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team with instruments and supplies needed for surgeries.
• Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning and ready for use.
• Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the OR environment.
• Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to provide optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Operating room experience in a Level 1 trauma center is highly desired.
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Able to scrub for surgeries.
