Surgical Staff - Operating Room (OR)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

10-hour days, with a shift from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM. Weekend and weekday call required. Days may be blocked together, though it is not guaranteed.

Job Description

This position involves working in a multi-specialty operating room environment which includes Orthopedic, General, Plastic, ENT, Neuro, Urology, GYN, and Robotics for GYN procedures. The staff will be expected to perform a range of surgical assistant responsibilities alongside the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures in various specialties.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
• Prepare surgical instruments and assist in equipment setup.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff.
• Participate in post-operative care and support surgical evaluations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid state license required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience in a surgical setting preferred.
• Completion of a central staff skills checklist and core competency exam.
• Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, TB Test) required for onboarding.
