Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, with varying shifts of either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM. No weekends, no call, no holidays.
Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. The role involves positioning patients and performing imaging procedures while ensuring proper imaging techniques related to the patient's age and ability to understand the procedure. The technologist will review patient information and data interpretations to confirm appropriate plans and interventions, ensuring they meet age-related needs.
The position requires performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities include analyzing results, identifying and resolving imaging quality issues, entering and transmitting scan results, and managing radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols. The technologist will monitor patient condition continuously and maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.
Responsibilities
- Review and educate patients on imaging procedures.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Ensure imaging quality is obtained using proper techniques.
- Analyze results and resolve imaging quality issues.
- Manage the ordering, preparation, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to changes.
- Maintain inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- CT certification and PET/CT experience preferred.
- ARRT CT certification.
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) from the NMTCB or ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine (NM).
- New York State Licensure.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
