Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care of the patient in the Emergency Department; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to provide comprehensive care to patients in the Emergency Room.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgement in patient care planning.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities according to staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel offering patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.

Schedule

This position requires working 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Arizona RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
