Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Days, 12-hour shifts with 36 hours guaranteed per week. Weekend schedule to be determined by facility.

Job Description

Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to the care of patients, teaching patients and significant others, documenting patient care in the medical record, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the medical records.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish and implement care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Recent acute care hospital experience (within the past 2 years) - REQUIRED
• 2 years of emergency department experience - REQUIRED
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS - REQUIRED
• Oregon RN license (must be willing to obtain if not active at time of submission).
