Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Specialty

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

The Orthopedic Specialty unit is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic nursing. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively manage a fast-paced environment with a focus on pain management and care for orthopedic and neuro spine patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries.
• Monitor and manage patient pain levels effectively.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and utilize the EPIC charting system.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed based on staffing requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic nursing.
• Must have BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with telemetry and IV starts required.
• Charge nurse experience and Level I trauma experience preferred.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact license.
