Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Stepdown Care

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

This position is within a 225-bed specialty care hospital focusing on cardiac and stepdown patient care. The Nurse will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry services.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care and monitoring for cardiac patients as part of a dedicated telemetry unit.
• Administer medications, manage chest tubes, and apply cardiac drips as needed.
• Interact with patients and their families, offering education and support through pre-and post-operative phases of care.
• Utilize telemetry equipment for continuous monitoring and assessment of patient conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and best practices throughout patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or stepdown setting.
• Valid RN licensure in the state of Michigan.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke certification preferred.
