Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift - Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4:30pm. On-call evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist assists the cardiologist in performing invasive procedures, including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterizations, and interventional procedures. The specialist is responsible for patient monitoring, documentation, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into the Cath Lab computer system and monitor patients throughout procedures.
• Document all aspects of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system.
• Communicate vital patient information to the physician, including blood pressure and heart rhythms.
• Operate equipment such as fluoroscopy equipment and monitoring devices.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare rooms and trays for procedures, and explain procedures to patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Assist in the transport of patients within the department to ensure timely operations.
• Maintain patient safety through aseptic techniques and proper use of radiation safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited technical program is required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology certification or similar is required.
