Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The technologist should possess knowledge about Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation, including the use of gamma cameras (both planar and SPECT), PET, radiation detectors, counters, dose calibrators, and quality control of all related equipment. Knowledge of radiation safety practices, patient and occupational exposures, dosimetry, and ALARA techniques is essential.

Responsibilities

• Injects and administers all radiopharmaceuticals, assays activities, and calculates volume and activity concentrations.
• Understands Nuclear Medicine protocols and procedures, positioning patients accordingly, and monitoring them during procedures.
• Performs intravenous (IV) access, selecting appropriate sites and applying aseptic techniques.
• Operates all Nuclear Medicine instrumentation and understands quality control requirements.
• Applies radiation safety regulations and procedures diligently.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ years of Nuclear Medicine experience - REQUIRED
• Profile Requirements: Skills checklist current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (Nuclear Medicine) - REQUIRED [DOCUMENT]
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years - REQUIRED [DOCUMENT]
• Active American Heart Association BLS - REQUIRED [DOCUMENT]
• ARRT (N) or NMTCB Registered (or equivalent) - REQUIRED [DOCUMENT]
