Charge Registered Nurse (RN) - Med-Surg/Tele - Acute Care

Job Description

The Charge Registered Nurse will perform nursing duties in a mixed unit encompassing Med-Surg, Med-Surg Telemetry, and PCU. The role involves leadership responsibilities, with expectations to float as required. The candidate will be a crucial member of the rapid response team, providing high-quality patient care with an emphasis on total joints and tele health.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessments and implement nursing interventions for a diverse patient population.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including cardiac drips and chemotherapy as required.
• Participate in the rapid response team and handle emergencies as they arise.
• Supervise nursing staff and oversee charge duties as necessary.
• Facilitate patient education and support advocacy for optimal care management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med-Surg/Tele environment.
• Current RN license valid in Florida or compact RN license.
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with a 1:6 patient ratio and strong telemetry competencies.
• Prior experience in charge nursing roles and with total joint patients preferred.
