Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit is accountable for providing optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. This role involves comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Manage and treat human responses to health problems.
• Coordinate care among healthcare professionals as needed.
• Provide care for patients requiring moderately complex assessments and interventions.
• Maintain high standards of quality care as measured by age-specific competency standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required; Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred.
• Must have experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management.
• NV RN license required prior to start.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• IMCU travelers must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam.
