Maternal Child Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

7 AM - 7 PM; Weekends required every third weekend.

Job Description

The Maternal Child Health RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients for a designated time frame. This role involves providing care through therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration with other health care team members. The RN will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for patient care relevant to the specific needs of patients, applying principles of growth and development across the life span.

Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient data to identify patient requirements based on age-specific needs.
• Function as a primary RN in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, Mother-Baby, and GYN patients.
• Float to other hospital areas as a resource, guided by the Charge Nurse or RN in the assigned department.
• Maintain high standards of care and safety within the scope of practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State RN Licensure
• Basic Life Support (AHA) required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) required upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program required upon hire
• AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification required upon hire
• STABLE certification preferred
• Baby Friendly experience preferred
• Three years of experience in Labor and Delivery
• Three years of experience in Nursery
• Three years of experience in Med-Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR documentation preferred

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
