Maternal Child Health Registered Nurse

Job Description

The Maternal Child Health RN is responsible and accountable for providing care to a group of patients for a designated time frame using the therapeutic nursing process. The RN collaborates with other healthcare team members and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to meet age-specific needs of patients. The position involves functioning primarily within the areas of Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, Mother-Baby, and GYN patients. Additionally, the RN may be floated to other hospital areas as directed, maintaining high standards of care and safety within their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Maternal Child Health departments.
• Evaluate and interpret patient data relevant to age-specific needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to integrate care.
• Function as a primary RN in Labor & Delivery and various nursery areas.
• Adhere to high standards of care while floating to other departments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) certification upon hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification upon hire.
• AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification upon hire.
• STABLE certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Nursery.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR documentation preferred.

Schedule

This position operates on a 7P - 7:30A shift. Weekends are required every third weekend.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
