Job Description

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the health care team using evidence-based practices, demonstrating accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers while providing safe and optimal patient outcomes. The role promotes continuity of care by effectively communicating with the interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate. The nurse directs the work of support staff in the provision of care and performs general nursing duties with critical thinking skills and minimal supervision. This position involves care across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Provide assessments and care for patients across all age groups.
• Direct the work of support staff in providing patient care.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to make sound nursing judgments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN.
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness.
• Basic computer knowledge and technical skills related to nursing practices.
