This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekends, evenings, or call requirements.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs imaging and therapy in alignment with established standards and organizational policies. Key responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, educating patients on procedures, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with established protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures and ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and medications as per protocols.
• Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to any changes in status.
• Prepare equipment and select appropriate imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment.
• Position patients and execute imaging procedures.
• Analyze imaging results and troubleshoot any issues related to image quality.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Technologist (RT) with certification in nuclear medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Maine State Radiologic Technologist license for Nuclear Medicine is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification preferred.
