Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week, every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality patient care by following the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe and effective working environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with policies.
• Actively participate in team-building and unit functioning to create a positive work atmosphere.
• Monitor clinical supplies and maintain communication with management regarding needs.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS Certification - Required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification - Required prior to first shift (specific sites only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience; one year of ICU experience preferred.
