Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12 Contract Position

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety in a professional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and weekly re-evaluations.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning by offering calm direction and reassurance to staff, departments, patients, and families.
• Prioritize activities and effectively manage time and staff to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (for CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience Preferred

Schedule

This is a day shift position consisting of three 12-hour shifts.
