Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Mid shift, 10:30am - 11:00pm, with rotating weekends.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides direct and indirect patient care, evaluates patient outcomes, and collaborates with specialists and ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient care. The nurse adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to maintain efficient patient flow through the ER and addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care while meeting communication needs for both patients and their families. Effective communication with ED physicians regarding changes in patient status and response to treatment is vital.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in condition.
• Adjust nursing care processes as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
• Meet the psychosocial and physical needs of the patients.
• Collaborate with specialists and ancillary departments as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Illinois.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• ENPC, TNCC, and TNS certifications preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
