Job Description
This position is responsible for functioning as both a caregiver and care manager. In the caregiver role, the RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process. As a care manager, the RN directs and oversees the work of other caregivers, including nurses and non-nurses, via delegation, coordination, supervision, and validation/evaluation of patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
- Implement care following established procedures, policies, and care plans.
- Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement patient teaching.
- Document in patient charts, ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate effective organization and prioritization using sound critical thinking.
- Supervise assigned coworkers and delegate patient care activities appropriately.
- Function as a Charge Nurse as required, coordinating patient assignments and staff coverage.
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education and professional affiliations.
- Ensure safety requirements are met, including infection control and emergency procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State RN Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred experience in an acute care setting.
- Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.

This is a night shift position.

This is a 13-week contract position.
