Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Per Diem)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit is responsible for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice and guiding patient/family teaching while ensuring the maintenance of high standards of care. The RN will also float to medical-surgical units as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor patient care in the Telemetry and Med/Surg units.
• Evaluate patients' clinical conditions and respond swiftly to changes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians concerning patients' conditions and diagnostic results.
• Provide patient and family education regarding care plans and disease management.
• Supervise and direct the activities of other nursing personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous acute care hospital experience.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to float to various units as required.
