OB Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12 hour shifts; 4 days per week; ALL rotating shift schedules.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the OB department, you will provide direct care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in labor and delivery. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a commitment to patient and family-centered care. The role includes orientation and training across various competencies and modes of care within the OB service. Floating among units to address varying needs in volume and acuity is an ongoing expectation.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct patient care for high, moderate, and low-risk OB patients.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in labor and delivery.
• Utilizing strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Prioritizing patient and family-centered care.
• Adapting to various competencies and modes of care across the OB service.
• Floating to different units as needed based on volume and acuity.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN License (New York ONLY)
• Two (2) years of experience in labor and delivery required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification required.
