Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating shifts consisting of 3x12-hour schedules, Day shift from 07:00 to 19:30 and Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30. Expect to work 3 weeks of each shift over a 6 week schedule, based on unit needs. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our telemetry unit. The RN will be responsible for providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients, focusing primarily on respiratory and cardiac conditions. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members and utilize advanced medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on telemetry, managing a patient ratio of up to 5 during day shifts and 6 during night shifts.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform procedures such as blood product administration, IV management, and central line care.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention.
• Float to other units as required to meet staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active PA or Compact RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a telemetry or similar unit.
• Experience with Cerner or similar charting systems is required.
