Float Pool RN - MedSurg/Telemetry and Stepdown

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts, with weekends required as scheduled.

Job Description

The Float Pool RN will be responsible for providing care across multiple units including MedSurg, Telemetry, Stepdown, and Rehabilitation. Nurses will float as needed and care for patients with various diagnoses, including post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, and oncology patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Stepdown units, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips as required.
• Monitor and assess patients with a range of medical conditions.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Float between different units as required, adapting to diverse patient populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for telemetry/stepdown units.
