Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: Straight Nights, 7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Cardiac Stepdown RN is responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing cardiac devices, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal recovery and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor patients' cardiovascular status, including heart rate, blood pressure, rhythm, and oxygen saturation.
• Assess for signs of cardiac complications and respond appropriately.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide post-surgical and post-procedural care to patients recovering from cardiac interventions.
• Educate patients and their families on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond to emergent situations and assist in patient stabilization.
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent hospital-acquired infections.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Med Surg.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel experience.
• Current RN license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience in cardiac care or telemetry nursing is required.
• Cardiac nursing certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR) preferred.
