Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Nights, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, weekends required.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients presenting to the emergency department. The RN will assess, triage, and manage patients across all acuity levels, coordinating care in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle patients from ESI level 1-5 with an average ratio of 4-5:1.
• Manage emergency conditions such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis.
• Perform all essential clinical skills including PIV, NG/OG tube placement, foley insertion, wound care, and splinting.
• Assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placements.
• Conduct thorough triage and patient assessments swiftly.
• Complete appropriate EMTALA paperwork as required by hospital policies.
• Participate in departmental collaboration, including answering call lights and patient transport.
• Be flexible to float to other departments as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of emergency department RN experience.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required.
• Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse is preferred but not mandatory.
