Radiation Therapist

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position focused on delivering quality patient care through radiation therapy treatments. The selected candidate will perform treatment simulations, fabricate necessary shielding blocks, and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR). The role involves preparing equipment for patient treatments, performing quality control and assurance tests, ensuring proper infection control techniques, and adhering to optimal radiation safety and protection practices.

All duties must reflect the philosophy, goals, objectives, and standards of care recognized nationally and in alignment with expected standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality radiation therapy treatments to patients.
• Perform treatment simulations and fabricate shielding blocks.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
• Prepare equipment and perform quality control and assurance tests.
• Ensure compliance with infection control techniques and radiation safety practices.
• Maintain professional relationships with medical staff.

Schedule

Current schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of a 4-day work week (4/10s).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience.
• ARRT (T) certification is required.
• 1 year of travel experience or relevant work experience with Varian and ARIA is required.
• Experience with TrueBeam and Trilogy is preferred.
• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
