Radiation Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift with hours generally from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with some variation for patient appointments. Call may be required from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM as needed.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will support the Radiation Oncology department within an acute care hospital and regional health system. The role is responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy using Elekta linear accelerators, and proficiency with MOSAIQ documentation is required. Experience with ViewRay systems is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely.
• Utilize Elekta linear accelerators and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
• Document treatment sessions in MOSAIQ and maintain accurate patient records.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
• Assist in simulation of treatment sites and compute dose distribution.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-R) and ARRT Certification in Radiation Safety (ARRT-T).
• Graduation from a JRCERT accredited radiation therapy program.
• Knowledge of EPIC for documentation is preferred.
