This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts with the option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a telemetry environment. The nurse is expected to apply, interpret telemetry strips, and respond actively to the monitored rhythms. Working in a team-oriented environment, the nurse will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform telemetry strip interpretation and respond to abnormal findings.
• Administer medications and provide post-operative care to patients.
• Utilize appropriate nursing protocols such as NG tube insertion and IV placements.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members for comprehensive patient care.
• Support patients and their families throughout the care process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience with at least 1 year in Med-Surg Telemetry.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required prior to starting.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
• Epic experience within the past 2 years is required.
• Prior travel experience in settings of 300+ bed facilities is required.
