Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, providing a focus on patient and employee safety within a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to inform individualized care plans.
• Identify patient teaching needs and goals, collaborating with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Promote a safe environment by following hospital policies on personal and environmental safety.
• Actively participate in team building activities to enhance unit functioning and morale.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested, after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
