MedSurg Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00), including weekdays and 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 34-bed MedSurg unit with telemetry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing acute medical conditions and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring vital signs.
• Perform assessments, develop nursing care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care objectives.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
• Utilize telemetry for monitoring patient heart rhythms and respond to emergencies.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg RN experience.
• Active RN License (WV or Compact License). Pending licenses accepted for submission.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
