Registered Nurse - Neuro 12 Hour Nights

This is a 13-week contract position, working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuro unit. This unit focuses on neurosciences, including conditions such as strokes, seizures, and surgical/postoperative care for spine patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neuro nursing and be proficient with G-tubes. Experience with the EPIC charting system is also required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with neurological disorders.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators) and stroke recovery.
• Administer medications as per physician orders and protocols.
• Document patient care in EPIC, verifying monitor tech strip readings.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must be in hand at the time of submission).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Strong neuro nursing experience is essential.
• Recent Epic experience required.
