Cardiovascular Registered Nurse

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. As a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), you will care for over 4000 cardiology patients annually, including those undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. You will also manage the care of approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-operative) discharged from the unit, specializing in care for congestive heart failure and conducting electrophysiology studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for cardiovascular patients
• Monitor and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Utilize clinical judgment in patient assessments and care planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in national clinical trials through the NISUS research department

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ year of Stepdown experience (required)
• Proficient in Cardiac care (required)
• Must be comfortable with EKG interpretation (required)
• Willingness to float to similar units as necessary (required)
• Current Michigan RN license (verification required)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)

Schedule

This position requires a shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a guaranteed 36 hours. Potential weekend shifts may also occur.
