Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) with every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, focusing on telemetry and related specialties. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring telemetry, assessing patient conditions, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and manage IV drips (e.g., Heparin, TNA).
• Monitor patient telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for patients with a variety of conditions including respiratory illnesses, post-op surgeries, diabetes management, and renal failure.
• Implement isolation precautions and manage dysrhythmias as needed.
• Assess and document patient progress and response to treatment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry environment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
• Ability to float between facilities and work under a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
• Successful completion of the Pass/Fail EKG exam is mandatory.
