Registered Respiratory Therapist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 hours per week, Day shifts (12-hour), from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Description

An Urgent Need for a Registered Respiratory Therapist is calling for immediate applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in respiratory therapy and be prepared to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather and evaluate patient information both from interviews and data sources.
• Develop appropriate care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
• Identify and address variations in patient conditions and take necessary actions.
• Plan, provide, and evaluate patient teaching and education.
• Administer respiratory and oxygen therapy treatments following established guidelines.
• Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators, including BIPAP and CPAP units.
• Perform diagnostic tests, including ABGs, pulse oximetry, and EKGs.
• Educate patients on cardiopulmonary medication and equipment usage.
• Implement and monitor components of the VAP bundle.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credentials by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Massachusetts.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Prior experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
