Registered Nurse - Cardiac Preoperative Care

Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday with on-call requirements.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Preoperative Care team. The role involves providing comprehensive care for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in critical care practices and demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the interdepartmental team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including skin assessments and medication administration.
• Support the induction and intubation process, positioning patients, and assisting with skin prep.
• Perform large-bore IV starts and assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placements.
• Transport patients to the operating room while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license with critical care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience in a Preoperative or Cardiac environment preferred.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to function in a high-acuity area.
