Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the Medical Surgical Unit, primarily focusing on post-surgical patients. The RN will work with adults experiencing various conditions, including abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and provide treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with the healthcare team for effective care.
• Utilize specialty equipment, including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care provided.
• Support patients and families in transition from hospital to home.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Current RN license in New York with verification via NURSYS.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• EMR experience with EPIC is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with matching address for demographic verification.

Floating Requirements

Floating between units may be required based on patient needs.
