Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) - Every Other Weekend Coverage Required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit provides nursing care for adult and geriatric patients, managing conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain. The RN will play a critical role in patient monitoring and management, using a comprehensive approach to care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and provide nursing care to patients with various diagnoses.
• Administer medications and manage blood products as needed.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access, including PICC and peripheral lines.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including the use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Provide respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management.
• Monitor patient vital signs and manage isolation precautions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Must have EPIC charting experience.
• New York State RN licensure in hand is required for submission.
• Travel experience is mandatory; local candidates must be more than 50 miles from the facility.
