Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans based on the patient’s needs, goals, and physician directives. This role includes the delegation and direction of discipline-specific therapy services, ensuring the creation of functional treatment programs that facilitate the patients' return to community activities. The therapist also plays a vital role in educating patients, families, students, and coworkers while performing other professional duties associated with patient care and therapy service development.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Document medical records clearly, concisely, accurately, and timely, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
- Provide care under valid physician orders and maintain compliance with insurance approvals.
- Participate in student programs, providing support and supervision to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in physical therapy.
- Adhere to all state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the organization.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for professional practice.
Schedule
This position requires flexibility of 40 hours per week, including 2 evening shifts.
