Physical Therapist - Outpatient
Job Description
The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs, goals, and physician direction. The therapist is responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. This role ensures the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities and serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients and develop appropriate treatment plans focused on progressing patients towards discharge within an established length of stay.
- Document medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Provide care under signed, valid physician orders, adhering to insurance approvals as necessary.
- Participate in student programs, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision.
- Create an individualized professional development plan, pursuing growth through continuing education and professional activities.
- Maintain professional licensure in good standing and complete all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
- Understand and apply performance improvement methodologies to enhance quality of services.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- At least 6 months of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR Certification.
Schedule
This position offers a flexible 40-hour workweek, working 5x8.0 hours.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
