Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, day shift starting at 7 AM. Must be available to work weekends.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) is responsible for delivering safe patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice while guiding patient and family education and supervising other nursing personnel. The RN communicates effectively with physicians and is accountable for the care provided to patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to physicians.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and health management.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or Red Cross).
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, preferably in an ER setting.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR is advantageous.
