Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Must be able to work weekends.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel. This is a Per Diem position for a duration of 26 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess and evaluate patient health conditions and care needs.
• Utilize the nursing process in patient care delivery.
• Communicate changes in clinical conditions to the physician.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Respond quickly to changes in a patient's condition and treatment responses.
• Understand and comply with EMTALA regulations and reporting responsibilities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in the Emergency Room.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus.
