Medical-Surgical Float Pool Nurse

NOC Shift (19:00 – 07:30) with 3 × 12-hour shifts per week, totaling 36 hours.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical Float Pool Nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care across various inpatient Medical-Surgical units.
• Demonstrate adaptability and strong clinical judgment while floating between units.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, attendance, documentation standards, and medication safety protocols.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on standard Med Surg units, adjusting based on unit acuity and staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIHHS certifications are required; ACLS and TNCC certifications are preferred.
• Strong proficiency in EPIC systems.
