Emergency Department Registered Nurse - Nights

Job Description

Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to the care of patients. The nurse will teach patients and significant others, document patient care in the medical record, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.

Responsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process to assess and provide care for patients in the emergency department.
  • Educate patients and their families on health issues and care plans.
  • Create detailed documentation of patient care and interventions in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Participate in on-call duties as scheduled, as well as weekend shifts as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Recent acute care hospital experience (within the past 2 years is required).
  • A minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience is required.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications (not required to be active at the time of submission but must be willing to obtain).
  • Oregon state nursing license (not required to be active at the time of submission but must be willing to obtain).

Schedule

This position involves 12-hour night shifts, specifically 36 hours guaranteed per week. On-call schedule will be determined by the facility, with weekends to be scheduled accordingly.
