Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery / Postpartum

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Days 7a-7p, every 3rd weekend, on-call (must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum settings, planning, directing, and coordinating patient care according to established standards. The RN will act as a liaison between patients, families, and physicians while collaborating with healthcare team members. Responsibilities will also include educating patients and their families on care processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients.
  • Collaborate to establish and communicate a plan of care based on assessment data.
  • Implement and evaluate the plan of care, modifying it based on patient reassessment.
  • Complete documentation according to established standards and utilize documentation tools appropriately.
  • Assess patients' readiness to learn and implement personalized education plans.
  • Participate in nursing department initiatives and committees.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for specific patient populations.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and professional standards in patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and/or OB.
  • Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications.
