Operating Room Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. End times may vary depending on procedures.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Technicians, and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring availability of supplies and equipment.
• Maintaining timeliness of surgical cases.
• Communicating effectively with patients and their families.
• Updating physician preference cards.
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical procedures.
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including prior travel experience.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• No locals will be accepted; travel submissions must include the necessary qualifications.
