Occupational Therapy Director

Job Description

The Occupational Therapy Director is responsible for the clinical oversight of the Occupational Therapy Department staff. The Director oversees and coordinates the clinical education and competency process for the Occupational Therapy staff, including direct supervision of certified Occupational Therapy assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians. They ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and professional standards while evaluating and treating patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy Department staff.
• Oversee and coordinate the clinical education and competency process for Occupational Therapy staff.
• Supervise certified Occupational Therapy assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and professional standards.
• Manage the Occupational Therapy policy and procedure manual addressing scope of care, evaluation/treatment standards, discharge planning and documentation.
• Evaluate and treat patients 80% of the time.
• Assist with program development and administrative tasks as needed.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts, requiring 40 hours per week. Some weekend work may be necessary, including every other Saturday.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Must possess appropriate state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist. Experience in clinical supervision and program management is preferred.
