AM shifts, 5 × 8 hours per shift, totaling 40 hours per week.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for administering ionizing radiation to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms in accordance with established protocols. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and relevant medical terminology. The technologist maintains high accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and the evaluation of imaging parameters to optimize patient care while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and analyze diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
• Utilize independent professional judgment and critical thinking in the imaging process.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providing care sensitivity to their physical, cultural, and emotional needs.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and assess professional performance continually.
• Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations related to mammography.
• Implement quality control and assurance requirements specific to the procedure.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• General relevant experience as a Mammography Technologist.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (Radiography) required or ARRT Registered Technologist (Mammography) required.
