Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans according to patients' needs, goals, and physician direction. The position includes delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for those patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that promote effective return to community activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge.
- Complete medical record documentation accurately and timely, including goals, assessments, and charge entry.
- Provide care under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval requirements.
- Participate in student programs, offering mentorship and supervision as needed.
- Create and actively pursue an individualized professional development plan.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and maintain professional licensure.
- Understand organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute to maximizing outcomes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active licensure in the State where the work will be performed.
Schedule
This position operates on a 5x8.0 schedule with patient evaluations lasting 60 minutes and follow-up sessions occurring every 30 minutes.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
