Night shift 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30) with rotating holidays and weekends.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team in a 12-bed unit specializing in Oncology, Thoracic, and Bariatric surgery. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients while ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and managing complex patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage treatment regimens.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and responses to treatments.
• Educate patients and their families regarding cancer care and management.
• Caring for patients with various diagnoses including breast cancer, lung cancer, and multiple myeloma.
• Perform necessary procedures including managing chest tubes and handling central lines.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including IV teams and social services, to support patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Oncology setting preferred.
• Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC).
• BLS certification required.
• Current RN license in VA or compact license.
• Experience in using Meditech charting system preferred.
