Job Description

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. The role emphasizes the importance of patient and employee safety, adhering to safety policies and procedures, and promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and comfort during care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and overall bedside nursing tasks.
• Prepare and manage patient menus according to prescribed diets, accommodating food allergies and preferences.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient care and service issues.
• Perform clerical tasks in the Food & Nutrition office, maintaining organization and efficiency.
• Participate in safety training and in-services to stay informed of best practices.
• Assist tray line and food service as needed.
• Other duties as requested to support department needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CIRH ONLY, unless required by state).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
